In 2017, Anushka made her modelling debut for the designer Wendell Rodricks's Les Vamps Show at Lakme Fashion Week and was selected by him to be the final model for the Spring Summer 2007 Collection. Anushka Sharma has been involved with a number of campaigns for brands since her Lakme Fashion Week debut. These include campaigns in the name of Fiat Palio and Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka joined an acting class before beginning to audition for film roles along with the modeling profession. Anushka Sharma was the first actress to film in 2008, with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. She starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan. She took one day to prepare for her screen test and was unable to do an unplanned version. Later on she was contracted for three films under Yash Raj Films banner. She played a role as a bride who was young and married to a man of middle aged (the character Shah Rukh Khan was portraying). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. In 2010, Anushka Sharma appeared in the film 'Badmash Company together with Shahid Kapoor Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das as well as Meiyang Chang. The film received mixed praises. Anushka appeared alongside Ranveer in the film 'Band Baaja Baaraat' in which she portrayed the role of a Punjabi middle-class girl who started her own business. It was a surprise hit and was praised by the critics. Anushka had completed the contract for three films together with Yash Raj Films.
